Green day – Midori no hi – Japanese National Holiday

Greenery Day is a national holiday that was instituted in 1989. The national holiday falls on April 29th. April 29th was originally the national holiday when people celebrated the birthday of the Showa. After the Showa Emperor died in January 1989, the day was newly designated as a national holiday to appreciate nature.
