Hydrangea Temple Gardens in Kamakura – part 1

emples in Kamakura are especially gorgeous and charming during the blooming season of the hydrangea. They’re are in full bloom from about mid-June to earl July.

Hasedera Temple

Enjoy more than 40 kinds of hydrangeas while walking up the hills of Hasedera Temple. From the top of the hill, you’ll get a marvelous view of the ocean, too!

Meigetsuin Temple 

Meigetsuin, also known as Hydrangea Temple (Ajisai-dera) is a well-known spot to appreciate the beauty of hydrangeas. Meigeitsu also houses the tomb of Hojo Tokiyori, a former supreme ruler of Japan who used Kamakura as his base.

Admission Fee : 300 yen /Iris garden: 500 yen (open in June )
